We are aware that no two recruitment assignments are the same. Some vacancies may be relatively easy for us to fill, others may require more time and effort. To understand the method required to successfully fill your vacancy, we begin all our assignments with a consultation between you, the client and the specialist Consultant whose business area the vacancy falls into. (via telephone if the vacancy requires urgent attention but preferably face to face to allow us to build a strong picture of your needs).
There is a great deal of flexibility in the type of service on offer to clients. Depending on the nature of the vacancy - individual recruitment assignments can be tailored to involve one, or a combination, of the following methods:
A fast and effective method, also FREE until we find you the person you require.
Aardvark Swift has been a specialist recruiter for the games industry for almost 20 years. We are in a unique position in being able to make this claim and have a unique database to match.
Our database contains the details of over 20,000 candidates including; experienced games industry professionals and also non games experienced candidates with “cross over” skills seeking a move into the sector and recent graduates (particularly Computer Science and Games Programming)
Candidates on the database fall into many different categories, including:
“Actively seeking Employment”
Candidates that have maybe suffered a recent redundancy or reached the end of a project/contract. After interview we offer them as many suitable opportunities as possible to help them secure a new role.
“Comfortable in their current role but seeking a specific opportunity”
These candidates are typically high in calibre as they are carrying out a great job elsewhere. They may however be seeking; a change in career direction, promotion, relocation etc and their current employers are not able to offer this. We make them aware when vacancies that fit their requirement arise.
“Happy where they are but would consider an attractive opportunity”
Typically very high calibre candidates and not available through other sources as they are not actively seeking alternative employment (will not be checking for job adverts etc). Our Consultant’s knowledge of their business area allows them to know who and where these candidates are.
Fees
Payable only upon successful placement of a candidate
Aardvark Swift regularly manages bespoke advertised search and selection campaigns on behalf of its clients. Please click here to see examples of previous campaigns.
We manage campaigns across specialist games media (MCV, Develop, Mobile Entertainment), national press (Times, Guardian) and also across other specialist publications (Marketing Week, PR Week, The Grocer)
This is a particularly useful method when recruiting for multiple types of staff or large numbers of candidates. It is also a useful tool to help raise the profile of your company and show others you are expanding
The Process
We have the facilities in house to manage the design, production and placement of recruitment adverts. A dedicated Consultant will; carry out an initial consultation, place the advert, manage the response (telephone and e mail), screen and short list candidates. The short list will be submitted to you along with interview notes and pertinent information (salary, location, etc). The usual interview process would then begin.
Fees
Negotiable but due to the amount of work having to be placed into this type of assignment – the minimum fee is 20%.
Depending on the nature and size of the advert Aardvark Swift may discount some of the cost of the advertisement off the final fee. Please speak to your individual consultant for further details.
Fees payable on successful completion of assignment (placement)
The deliberate targeting of candidates working at competitor companies
Due to the acute skills shortage in the games industry the use of headhunting methods is now widespread. Historically this type of recruitment was frowned upon by the close knit Games Development community in particular. However, many leading developers now employ head-hunters directly or hire them on an assignment basis. This has proved to be a valuable way to help them meet their recruitment needs.
All Aardvark Swift Consultants are trained in the use of head hunting methods and the service is available upon request. It can be particularly useful for positions for which suitable candidates are very scarce.
We do not Head-hunt from our current clients! We have a very open and honest policy. If we have placed a candidate with you in the last 12 months – we will not head hunt your staff.
Please Note - Should you be an existing client of Aardvark Swift and a member of your staff approaches us directly, (without any prompt from us) we will help them search for a new role. This is not head-hunting.
The Process
A dedicated Consultant will; carry out an initial consultation identifying certain competitor companies/types of individuals. They will then research the individuals and approach them with the opportunity. Once approached and an initial interest is established they will be interviewed and added to a short list of candidates. (typically 5/6 candidates will form the short list but in certain circumstances this may be reduced to 1 or 2)
The short list will then be submitted to you along with interview notes and pertinent information (salary and location details etc). The usual interview process then begins.
Fees
This is a labour intensive method of recruitment and carries with it a higher price. There is a minimum fee of 25% for this service. This fee is typically split and paid in the following way:
1/3 on acceptance of assignment
1/3 on production of shortlist
1/3 on successful completion of assignment
There are alternatives to the above fee structure/split. Please speak with the relevant Consultant for further details.
