Konami – one of the games industry’s “icons” – the developer and global publisher of great games such as Metal Gear Solid and Pro Evolution Soccer, are a long standing client of Aardvark Swift. We’ve carried out many assignments for their European Publishing team over the last 10 years, but we were asked to help recently on a very specific (and very exciting!) new project.
Konami had chosen to relocate their existing Social Media Communications and Customer Support team from Germany to the UK - whilst at the same time expanding it in many areas.
We were asked by the Senior Vice President Online - to find the following:
Online and Social Media Communications Director, Market Research/Analysis Manager, 1Online and Social Media Communications Manager, Team Leader - Customer Support, Team Leader – Social Media Communications, 8 Customer Support/Social Media Communications Execs
Aardvark were consulted ahead of the move. We offered advice on potential team structure, salaries and the available talent in various territories. Konami require professionals with experience in video games, passion for their brands/games and also want a diverse culture within their new team. They need a European team – not a UK team managing European territories.
Following the consultation came a meeting in London. The organisation chart and job specs for the new team were discussed. Upon finalising, the project began....
Recruitment on this scale involves several Aardvark Consultants + Resourcers working together. In order to attract the right calibre and quantity of talent – Aardvark approached database candidates but relied heavily on proactive approaches to suitable candidates in our wider networks.
The project is still ongoing but early signs are good!
Many excellent candidates have already been sourced and interviews have
commenced for the key senior roles.
