Turbulenz - Client Story.
Turbulenz are a growing cloud gaming company. They are creating innovative tools and technology to allow third parties to develop games to be played within the browser. They approached us to help them find a key senior hire. This was a Senior Games Programmer, to lead the games team that would be creating original IP.
This was a very important hire and one that they had been struggling with for a while. They worked with another agency and had not managed to find someone suitable. The candidate that they were looking for, was a highly experienced games programmer with an interest and understanding of cutting edge technology, the ability to lead a team and quite frankly a brilliant brain. This also needed to be the right personality fit for the team, it was important that this candidate was personable and easy to work with, being in such an integral role.
We could see the potential in this role, it was an exciting company and a leading a role, one which could offer someone great rewards, should the company do well. We also accepted that it would be difficult to fill this position, we thought that the market would have been well and truly scoured, making this person difficult to find.
Our Programming Consultant got to work sourcing the best talent. She was able to have a detailed conversation with the hiring manager which helped her really clarify what type of person they were looking for.
3 candidates were submitted that were actively looking for work, the feedback was that they were not suitable based on their experience. We understood that to attract the calibre of candidates that we needed, we needed to contact more passive candidates. So we spent time really informing candidates about the great role and subsequently found a great Senior Programmer who was in the local area, he attended two interviews, received an offer and accepted.
We have subsequently received more roles from Turbulenz and have filled our second to date.
