Rachelle Swift
Learning & Development Manager
I’m a Learning & Development professional and love being able to get creative and build new ideas to help with learning in any environment. Aside from work, I love spending time with my family, going on trips, having lots of laughter, and making memories, socialising with my friends (with a bottomless brunch or two) and having lazy quiet days with a good book or a Netflix binge. I often say that my main hobby is shopping but it’s a great way to keep fit, it's cardio from all the walking and weightlifting from carrying the bags!
When did you start playing games?
I started playing games around 9 years old. The first game I played was Super Marios Bros and Duck Hunt on the NES
What's your favourite game series?
Spyro the Dragon. When the first game was released, I was obsessed (and still am)
What's your career background?
I have a varied career background. I first started working in Retail whilst studying Drama and Theatre Studies. After a couple of years, I changed my environment and worked for three large BPO companies, in a range of roles, before working my way up into Learning & Development and Management. For the past ten years, I have worked across a range of industries in a L&D capacity. Before starting at Aardvark, I wanted to get back into an L&D focus role and learn a new industry and this is the perfect fit!
What's your favourite quote?
Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world - Marilyn Monroe
What's your favourite place you've ever visited?
Mexico! I went there in 2016 and loved everything about it! The best excursion was visiting Jungle Mata and ziplining through the Mayan Jungle and swimming in the underwater cave was amazing!
What's your favourite breakfast?
Eggs Benedict. A nice mix of foods to start the day, with plenty of hollandaise sauce!
What's your earliest memory?
Going to watch Rotherham United play Shrewsbury Town in 1996 at Wembley Stadium with my dad!
What's your favourite hobby?
This is a new hobby for me, I'm going to start upcycling furniture for friends and family
