Aardvark Swift are working with Amsterdam based game developers, Studio 397, as they look to hire a C++ Programmer to work on their brand new Racing title.
As a Programmer at Studio 397 you will be at the heart of the game development process as you make improvements improve 397's custom C++ game engine. For this role you will need a robust understanding of modern C++, as well as object-oriented programming and experience developing games or other real-time simulations.
You can also expect to implement multiplayer features so familiarity with TCP and UDP protocols would be highly beneficial.
Studio 397 is a close-knit team, passionate about creating the most accurate motorsport simulation possible. Based in the Netherlands, Studio 397 has a global team of developers and artists building the rFactor 2 title. Their mission is to create the most realistic, accurate and engaging sim racing platform to date, through advanced physics, a new graphics engine and competition infrastructure. rFactor 2 was originally developed by racing game pioneers Image Space Inc. who led the way in terms of physics and features.

Your responsibilities will include…
- Building new systems and extending existing systems
- Create savvy implementations in modern C++
- Create test plans to ensure the code is robust
- Contribute to the technical vision for the game
- 3+ years of professional C++ experience
- At least 1 shipped AA or AAA title
- A robust understanding of 3D maths
- Good understanding of TCP / UDP networking
- A love for problem-solving and taking on technical challenges
- Possess a proactive mindset and are someone who prefers to act on potential problems before they become blockers
- An interest in motorsports or sim racing would be beneficial
