Job description

Sumo Nottingham are on the hunt for a Graphics Programmer to join their team as they develop action and racing titles for console and PC with the aim of bringing character and innovation to each and every project.

Sumo Nottingham's development portfolio spans multiple genres and platforms and includes multiple AAA projects with some of the world’s biggest publishers on titles such as Team Sonic Racing, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well as contributing to genre-defining titles like Forza Horizons and Hogwarts Legacy.

They have an opening for a Graphics Programmer to join their successful development team. You will be responsible for the delivery and integration of robust graphical features and associated engine and pipeline functionality, in collaboration with their multi-disciplined development teams, working on a wide variety of projects and tasks, contributing to the development of high-quality performant graphic systems.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Implement well-engineered, reliable, scalable, and maintainable code across a variety of projects
  • Follow best practices, development processes, documentation, and coding standards
  • Devise solutions to overcome platform constraints
  • Investigate bugs or issues in the graphics system when encountered
  • Mentor less experienced coders in your area of expertise, sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Assist in planning your workload

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • Previously worked on multiple titles
  • Demonstrable knowledge of graphics systems/processes
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Good knowledge of a modern graphics API
  • Working knowledge of shader languages
  • 3D maths and problem-solving skills
  • Broad knowledge of graphics pipeline, GPU architecture and graphics techniques
  • Knowledge of profiling tools (e.g., PIX, VTune, Render Doc etc)
