Job description

We are supporting the fantastic independent game developer Stainless Games to find experienced and skilled testers to join the QA team at their offices on the Isle of Wight!

As part of a fast-paced and active department, you will be responsible for game testing, bug investigation, reporting, and ensuring the highest overall quality of each product.

Stainless was established in 1994, with a catalogue of multi-million selling titles under their belt. Over the years, they have developed over 40 games and 300 SKUs for Mobile, Console, PC, and VR for gamers to enjoy!

Your responsibilities…
  • Carrying out smoke tests and specific checks in a consistent and thorough manner
  • Ensuring that all bugs are recorded in an efficient and informative manner
  • Using investigative skills to find problems, assisting programmers and artists with reproducing and validating bugs
  • Verifying the implementation of features and fixes for existing issues (regression)
  • Occasionally assisting with the production and upkeep of existing test plans
  • Writing and refining test cases
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • 1 or more years of experience within the last 3 years as a functional QA tester in an entertainment software environment
  • Computer literate in word processing, record keeping, and database handling. 
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong team player and attention to detail
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Technical mindset and an analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work using own initiative as well as being part of a team
  • Right to work in the UK
Bonus points if you have…
  • Knowledge of JIRA
  • Previous Experience with testing on mobile, console, PC, or VR
  • Solid knowledge or experience with XR/TRC requirements, Apple Store Review Guidelines, Google Play policies, and core app requirements
  • Experience with automated testing and scripting for automation
  • Applicated knowledge of cloud-based games, remote data delivery methods, and analytics
