Aardvark Swift are delighted to be supporting Ripstone in their search for senior programmers to help to proactively mold their current projects and drive forward creative ideas on their unannounced super-secret project. You will be a world-class Programmer with a can-do attitude who is self-motivated with the drive and ambition to become a strong team player.

You have the chance to become an integral part of their internal development team who have over 100 years of experience working on a variety of games for PC and console including Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

This can be either a fully remote role or you can be based in their Liverpool Studio!

Your role and responsibilities will include...

  • Delivering core modules within a new exciting project
  • Taking the lead on pushing forward your sections of the game to be the best they can be
  • Supporting the code, art, QA and design teams in making the best game possible
  • Providing input on all aspects of code design and best practices going forward
  • Influencing and becoming part of the DNA of the company
  • Working alongside a fabulous team of warm, friendly and extremely talented colleagues
  • Reporting to the Head of Technology with opportunities to advance in the future

The skills and experience you'll need...

  • Proficiency in C/C++ 
  • Unreal Engine 4 expertise
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Maths and 3D programming
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates game development skillset
  • An excellent attitude, positive mindset, and a proactive work ethic.
  • Knowledge and love of video games

Bonus points if you have...

  • Proven commercial experience within the computer games industry
  • Education to degree level (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science orMathematics
  • Experience with continuous integration/build systems.
  • A background with web services; for example, AWS or Azure services.
