Aardvark Swift is currently supporting nDreams in their search for a Senior VFX Artist at their new studio, Elevation.

Elevation is seeded by the creative talent that brought you the innovative, genre defining award-winning VR title Phantom: Covert Ops, they’re looking for exceptional talent to help pave the way forward with fresh innovation for the next generation of VR hardware and software.

As a real-time Senior VFX Artist you will assist with crafting a new generation of VR development and bringing the studio’s games to fruition.

nDreams are a world-leading game developer and publisher with a decade of VR specialism. Setting the standard for VR action games with Fracked and the award-winning Phantom: Covert Ops, their project continues to define the future of VR.

Your responsibilities…
  • Be a point of responsibility in the delivery of well-executed, creative, and optimized VFX content
  • Deliver new and inventive ideas to solve complex issues that arise from the role of VFX within a VR Environment
  • Mentoring good VFX workflow practices with other experienced, and Junior VFX Artists
  • Working with a level of self-driven autonomy, whilst reliably and effectively participating in team development
  • Maintain a strong working relationship and creative understanding with the Principal VFX Artist, Game Directors and Art Director
  • Reliably and consistently ensuring quality, creativity, and effective cross-discipline VFX development across multiple projects

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role...
  • 5 years game development experience and/or two published games
  • Real-time engine experience, ideally in Unreal, creating VFX blueprints, shader networks, particle interactions, dynamic systems, lighting, and post processing
  • Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Unreal, Maya
  • Excellent understanding of form, timing, weight and colour to create a sense drama within a gaming environment
  • A deep understanding of console and VR workflows and capabilities
  • Bonus points if you have knowledge of Houdini
