We're supporting Romero Games as they look to grow the team developing John Romero’s next First Person Shooter by adding an inspiring and creative Lead Artist to their ranks.

As the Lead Artist you will bring your experience, vision, and desire to create cutting edge games to the role as you work alongside a legendary Art Director to bring unique visual worlds and experiences for players on PC and console.

As the Lead Artist you will bring your experience, vision, and desire to create cutting edge games to the role as you work alongside a legendary Art Director to bring unique visual worlds and experiences for players on PC and console.
Your responsibilities…
- Manage, develop and mentor a multifaceted art team: concept, environment, characters, animation, and more
- Ensure the visual direction and quality for the studio’s game is reflected in every asset
- Inspire and motivate the art team through clear and concise constructive critiques
- Work with the art team to create efficient and performant pipelines and workflows
- Collaborate closely with the Design, Programming and Production teams
- Communicate with publishers and marketing teams as needed to ensure products are represented well visually
- Understand technical restraints while seeking out innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A proven track record of leading a AAA team in a production environment
- Full understanding of game contemporary development workflows and pipelines
- Working knowledge in a range of common game development art tools, 3DS Max/Maya/Blender/Zbrush, Substance, Photoshop, etc.
- A desire to learn new techniques and technologies
- 10 years of professional experience in the games industry producing game art
- 3 years of experience as an Art Lead or Associate Art Director
- A portfolio reflecting high-quality game art
- Experience with various styles of art direction
- Experience with Unreal
- Drawing/painting skills to help convey ideas
