Principal/Lead Level Designer (SE Remote)
Job description
We are searching for a passionate Principle/Lead Level Designer on behalf of Neon Giant to join their team. You will be collaborating alongside creative directors and other level designers to build compelling gameplay spaces for their players to explore in an immersive first person shooter.
Neon Giant is a small team of experienced games industry veterans with a heritage in some of the world’s biggest action game franchises. With their combined know-how, passion, and ambition, they’ve set out to create a new type of studio. The studio’s intention is to draw upon their AAA experience and focus on working efficiently, empowering each individual in order to maximise their creativity, and push the boundaries of making really fun videogames!
Your responsibilities…

Your responsibilities…
- Be a centre in the level design team to help drive method, scope, and team goals
- Build levels from concept to finished design
- Utilise proprietary systems to create missions and gameplay
- Work in conjunction with the environment art team, making sure they are mechanically and aesthetically memorable, and of high quality, as well as technically sound and performant
- Ensuring balance and consistency of levels with other designers and creative directors
- 7+ years AA/AAA experience in the games industry
- Understanding of gameplay, event scripting, and entity set up
- Knowledge and understanding on how to apply visual language, sign-posting, game balance, flow and architectural composition
- Solid 3D level editing experience
- Strong Blueprint experience
- Strong prototyping ability
- Leadership or mentoring experience
- First Person gameplay experience
