Aardvark Swift is supporting Rebellion in their search for a Senior Backend Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on Rebellion games as well as trusted industry partners on genre-defining AAA IPs. You will join an ambitious team working on multiple projects using different engines including Unreal 5.

In this role, you will work to deliver backend services that support both their live games and internal tools. This new role provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to architect and own a wide range of new services.
Your responsibilities…
Assist a team of developers to deliver live services for titles using UE5
Plan, research, and architect new services based on priorities from stakeholders
Work with design and network teams to turn feature designs into robust, scalable geolocated services and tools
Provide technical leadership by establishing and maintaining best practices across the team
Proactively identify and resolve issues in production and development environments
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Professional experience of being involved in strategic discussions and decisions
Experience with one or more Cloud Providers such as PlayFab, Azure, GCP, and AWS
Expert in at least one server-side language and framework
Proven experience building and running scalable, maintainable, and robust microservices
Working knowledge of technologies such as Nginx, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, Docker, and Kubernetes
Previous games industry experience is a plus
Working knowledge of C++ is a bonus
