Job description

We're looking to recruit a Senior Development Director for Splash Damage who will push to balance creative ambition with the need to execute on time. You will structure and deploy your team of Development Directors, Development Managers, and Associates across the development team to ensure the tracking of project progress and ultimately the delivery of projects.

As a Senior Development Director, you will work hand-in-hand with Producers, analysing and breaking down the product needs and wants and helping both the creative and product owners better define, prioritise, and challenge the content, features, and market expectations that go into each project.

Your responsibilities include…

  • Leading and driving a project’s overall development plan, with a focus on team performance
  • Bringing together people, materials, and tools, and unencumbering teams through mentoring and management
  • Bring a strong focus on quality, teamwork, communication, and improvement to deliver great games and content
  • Own the project plan to launch and continually operate the game on time, to quality, and within budget
  • Drive delivery and accountability within their game team, pushing for continual improvement and ensuring milestone, gates, and other deliverable expectations are met
  • Review and improve the development process and team performance, and executive development plans to suit different projects
  • Be quality focused and understand the needs of players and the business
  • Make data-driven decisions to improve your teams and align them to the long-term plans for operating a GaaS
  • Balance teams creative ambition with capacity to execute on time
  • Represent the state of progress and the outlook of the project internally and externally to clients
  • Foster an open, fun, and transparent development culture that makes teams and players love the games created

  • Demonstrable leadership across large teams, with a proficiency in communicating across team disciplines at all seniority levels
  • Accustomed to using data-driven analysis to make informed decisions around your goals and planning
  • Passion for games, being an avid gamer yourself
  • Strategical and methodological thinking, with a prowess for being a tactical delegator
  • Ability to help others empower themselves by fostering an environment of shared ownership, accountability, constructive criticism, recognition, appreciation, and collaboration
