Job description

Dragon Lake are looking for a strong Unreal Engine Technical Director with an AI focus for a 3rd-person single-player action/adventure AAA game based on a legendary comics universe. Are you looking to lead the AI Development on a major new project?

Dragons Lake is a multi-genre game development studio providing advanced tech and design solutions for AAA and AA+ projects on PC and consoles in association with Room 8 Group. They unite game dev professionals worldwide, working on high-end titles, co-developing, and porting with leading AAA publishers and developers in the industry.

Your responsibilities will be…

  • Lead the core team through all technical phases of development and build a technical team around it
  • Provide guidance and mentor all members of the technical team
  • Work closely with designers to create high-quality effects optimized for all target platforms
  • Write C++ code at a professional level to integrate and optimize for various target platforms
  • Design custom tools, integrate various SDKs
  • Iterate on and improve efficiency and quality of the studio’s pipeline and proprietary toolset
  • Estimate task duration accurately and manage time appropriately to hit deliveries and deadlines
  • Work with Information Security Management by explaining the requirements of the Information Security Policy to specialists as a Member of ISMS Committee

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • 5+ years of software development experience in the game or M&E industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or similar professional experience
  • Proficiency in C++ and skills to optimize for low latency performance
  • Experience designing and customizing Unreal Engine 4
  • Familiarity with a variety of SDKs and experience developing around them (Oculus, AMD/ATI, UE4, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of Perforce, Git, or another version control system
  • Excellent 3D Math, Trig, and Linear Algebra skills
  • Familiarity with modern practices of object-oriented programming and processes
  • High self-motivation and eagerness to learn new systems and skills
  • Effective communication skills and positive, team-player attitude


Bonus points if you have experience of…

  • Coding for GPUs (PhysX, AMD OpenCL Accelerated Parallel Processing)
  • Working with gaming consoles (Microsoft, Sony, and/or Nintendo) platforms
  • Tracking software (Jira, Confluence, Git, Optitrack, Vicon)
  • Knowledge of various M&E software, including Maya, SpeedTree, Vray, Otoy, etc
