Dorado Games are looking for a General Artist to be part of their interdisciplinary team, supporting the Art team, shaping, and aiding the creation of visually stunning and easy to use interfaces for their line-up of online games.
Dorado Games is a well-established video games studio in Malta. Currently work on “Conflict of Nations: World War 3” and well as some unannounced titles, the company’s focus is designing, developing, and marketing online strategy games for all platforms, for which the team draws on their combined knowledge from more than 60 published titles across many platforms.
As a General Artist you will work closely with and respond to the requirements set by the Art Director and Project Producer, ensuring that the designs align with the overall artistic vision and project goals and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines. You will transform conceptual models and images into final products which enhance the gaming experience for millions of players.
Your responsibilities…
Asset creation, including concepting, modelling, texturing, and rendering
Lighting and basic compositing
Work closely with Leads and other departments to achieve desired look and quality
Working to schedule and delivering work to agreed timelines
Supplementing briefs with your own research and ideas while ensuring delivery of core requirements
Working from concept ideas and images to turn them into final game assets
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Solid understanding of the broader game development and art creation process
3 or more years’ experience working in a games studio
Experience using photoshop for image editing
Experience modelling in Maya, 3ds Max or Blender and Substance Painter
Strong understanding of composition, light, and colour
Knowledge of rendering techniques and optimization processes to speed up render times
Ability to take direction positively and working within a team
Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks
Strong communication and organisation skills
A high attention to detail
A solid work ethic and a positive attitude in the face of challenging situations
Experience with Zbrush and Figma would be beneficial but not yet essential
