Job description

Deep Silver Dambuster Studios have an exciting opportunity within their core technology department for a Junior Core Tech Programmer to join them.

You will be working on the title, Dead Island 2, for next gen consoles and PC platforms. Your primary remit will be to help keep the engine, editor, and tools on the cutting edge. 

The studio are looking for someone who understands the processes involved in making a first-class, AAA modern game, and wants to make a big difference to the development team’s workflow.

Your responsibilities…
  • Work with the core technology team leads to maintain and optimise existing systems, develop new engine features, and build tools that give greater efficiency to the development pipeline
  • Collaborate closely with other team members, leading by example and helping to ensure that a high level of coding standards are achieved and maintained
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • Degree in science or relevant subject
  • Strong programming, maths, and problem solving skills.
  • Solid C++ programming skills
  • Ability to understand and debug other programmers' code
  • Experience working independently without supervision and as part of a team
  • Desire and ability to learn and develop
It's a bonus if you have...
  • Experience with engine technology and systems such as physics, streaming, rendering, Editor, and Tool Chain
  • Experience working on console technology
  • Experience with game editors or tools pipeline
  • Experience with the Unreal Engine
