Build A Rocket Boy - Edinburgh UK (Remote Options)


Build A Rocket Boy are looking for an experienced Lead Environment Artist, with a proven track record of delivering world-class game art.

You will play a key role in driving the quality and vision for environments in their project, being the point of contact and spearheading asset development under the guidance of the project Art Directors.

You'll be overseeing and managing a team of talented artists, sharing expert production knowledge, you will drive the team to produce a wide range of exceptional 3D environments. For this role, you will need to be a meticulous, well organised leader with a strong hands-on background, a passion for environmental art and mentoring artists.

As a Lead Environment Artist for Build a Rocket Boy, you will... 
  • Collaborate with the Art Directors to define the visual quality goals for 3D environments
  • Set benchmarks and lead a team in the creation of impressive environment art
  • Work with Technical Artists to create, improve, and maintain pipelines, shepherding assets efficiently through our development
  • Collaborate with production to manage team deliverables, helping to ensure schedules are met
  • Set budgets and document workflows, empowering other Artists to deliver impressive environment assets
The skills and experience you'll need...
  • Extensive track record in 3D environment asset creation
  • 6+ years of professional professional development as an Artist in the games industry
  • 2+ years as a Lead Environment Artist in the games industry
  • Expertise with current 3D modelling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya or equivalent
  • Specialisation with texture creation/authoring tools such as Substance
