Job description

Stainless Games are looking for a Lead Programmer with a love for games and a genuine passion for coding to work on their projects spanning console, mobile and PC titles.

At Stainless Games, you’ll be collaborating with talented colleagues in a refurbished fun and relaxed environment on the beautiful Isle of Wight. Stainless is an independent developer, established in 1994, with a catalogue of multi-million selling titles under their belt. Over the years they've developed more than 40 games and 300 titles for Mobile, Console, PC, Steam and VR for gamers to enjoy.

The studio has a diverse team that’s grown to over 75 devs dedicated to creating sector-leading indie games who draw on the studios rich history of crafting unique worlds. The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • 4 or more years game development experience with one or more shipped titles
  • Experience of mentoring and/or leading other coders
  • Strong C++ skills
  • Experienced in Unreal Engine 4
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Understanding of multiple gameplay technologies, such as AI, Physics, Navigation, Scripting, UI, Rendering
  • Fluent in English and effective cross discipline communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, and to deadlines
Non essential but desirable extras…
  • Good demonstrable knowledge of C#
  • Experience with scripting languages (LUA)
  • Other middleware experience (Unity 3D)
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Platform experience beyond PC (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, iOS/Android)
