Hardball Games are looking for a Lead Rendering Engineer to join their talented team in Brighton.
Hardball are a well-funded startup built around the Brighton-based makers of CSR Racing, Pure, Split Second, and most recently, LEGO Star Wars Battles on Apple Arcade. The core team has been working together for over fifteen years in one guise or another on console, PC, and mobile free-to-play.
You will be a leader in graphics development on an exciting unannounced title. You have a flexible approach to aspects of the game rendering within the team. The role will also allow you to collaborate with artists to achieve team goals.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Demonstrable work in design and implementation of advanced graphics techniques
Experience meeting performance goals across a range of target hardware
Experience of CPU, GPU, and asset optimisation
Excellent ability in C#, C, or C++ and of HLSL, Cg, or GLSL
Strong 3D maths skills
Willing to pick up new languages and technologies
The ability to collaborate and willingness to help others
It's a bonus if you have…
Experience of Unity, another C# game engine, or Unreal
Experience shipping one or more games
Prior experience of providing mentoring and leadership within a code team
Previous experience with large code bases and ability to work on code that you didn't write
Applicated experience with implementing rendering solutions on mobile devices and consoles
