Chinese mobile studio HiStar Entertainment are looking for a Level Designer to join their studio in ShenZhen as they grow their development team and studio portfolio.
As their new Level Designer, you’ll join a fun and dynamic work environment surrounded by passionate, creative, and talented devs as the studio builds on the back of their success by growing their team and developing a new match 3 game.
HiStar Entertainment are a highly innovative games company who specialise in social / casual gaming titles, over recent years they have developed a highly talented, international team of developers creating fun and interactive mobile games.
Their mission is to create games that are loved and played all over the world and they’re well on their way to achieving this goal with 30 game titles that have been downloaded across 35 different countries across the world with a highly impressive 60 million gamers!
Your responsibilities…

Your responsibilities…
- Create, assess, re-balance and tune new and existing levels
- Work with fellow Designers to ensure level consistency across titles
- Actively contribute to the creative discussions surrounding feature reviews and new feature design
- Work closely with Programmers, Artists, and other disciplines to ensure effective implementation of level designs
- Keep abreast of match-3 game trends and best practice
- Analyse competitor titles to maintain the game's competitiveness
- 2 or more years’ experience in mobile and/or match 3 level design
- Experience of launching successful mobile or casino titles
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Visual Arts, Technical Research, or related fields are preferable
- Solid understanding of game balancing and pacing
- Enthusiasm and desire to develop as a Level Designer
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
