We’re working with Stellar Entertainment as they look for a Network Programmer to join their team and help create the features that connect their users.
As a Network Engineer you will work alongside game designers and gameplay engineers to help push the boundaries of AAA games. You will be responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, and optimization of the layer that connects players and drives their games.
Stellar are an established AAA game studio who are well-known for working on the Need for Speed franchise alongside EA, now they are embarking on an exciting journey of their own to develop a new AAA arcade racing title in Unreal 5 for PC and Console.
Your responsibilities will include…
Design the architecture for the game’s network components
Implement efficient and fine-tuned code
Work closely with the gameplay engineers using the provided interfaces
Analyse, and optimise on the wire data
Understand and solve network issues such as high latency, low bandwidth, and firewall traversal scenarios
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
3 or more years’ experience as a network engineer in the games industry
Proficient in C/C++
Skilled in debugging real-time applications
Sound knowledge of network, concurrent and multi-threaded programming
Comfortable collaborating and communicating across disciplines
Bonus points if you have…
Experience in building large scale, real-time, multiplayer games
Ability to use one, or two extra programming languages
