Job description

Here at Aardvark Swift, we’re working with Guildford based DPS Games to find a Principal Programmer to work on a new truly unique project. A gorgeous AAA Free to Play PC game that is being built based on player feedback!

This project will be self-published by DPS and backed by one of the biggest publishers of FTP games in the world. DPS’s leadership are industry veterans, and they're building a great studio culture in the best studio space in Guildford.

As a Principal Programmer you’ll work on gameplay systems along with colleagues in the Gameplay Programming team and Designers to implement various gameplay features.

You’ll fit into a multidisciplinary team of developers in a global community, creating and being responsible for the crucial communication between player and game, sharing your hard-earned knowledge with colleagues.

Your responsibilities…
  • Develop gameplay features and systems in close collaboration with other disciplines
  • Prove out gameplay ideas by working with Designers during the prototype stage to hone the gameplay
  • Work closely with your Lead Programmer to mentor and train less experienced programmers on the team
  • Be the vanguard for improvements in the Tech department

  • Experienced in developing networked multiplayer games
  • Solid C++ skills
  • Strong mentoring/management skills
  • Unreal 4 development experience
  • PC and current gen console development experience
  • A love of working in cross-discipline feature teams
  • Effective communication skills in English
