Sharkmob London are working with us as they recruit for a Senior Online Engineer to join their Online team and design, implement and iterate on new, exciting and scalable real-time multiplayer online features.
You’ll be part of the Sharkmob Online team and report to the Lead Online Engineer, and collaborate with the Engineering team, a multidisciplinary group working across all things technology.
Sharkmob was founded in 2017 and has offices in Malmö and London, developing AAA-quality games for PC and console, using the Unreal Engine to power its ambitions of taking multiplayer games to new heights.
Sharkmob are working on two major projects: Exoborne – a Sharkmob original game created in Malmö, is a tactical, open-world extraction shooter set in a United States torn apart by apocalyptic forces of nature. The second project, being developed in London, is another original IP yet to be announced.
Your responsibilities…
Ownership of online backend systems
Work with a Dev Ops mentality - ready to run and support your own code
Mentor and help less experienced colleagues
Work closely with the Production team to inform project timelines
Work collaboratively and communicate effectively to maintain engineering excellence and high quality across the code base
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Excellent programming knowledge and software architectural skills (Go/C#)
Experienced with Modern Web frameworks, network protocols, protocol buffer, Api design and Cloud Services
Ability to write scripts from the ground up for CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform
Design and optimisation for databases (Sql, NoSql and In-memory)
Monitoring, alarms, unit and integration tests
Desirable but not essential experience...
