Ripple Effect are looking for a highly experienced Studio Technical Director to drive a large and growing engineering team working on multiple titles. In this role, will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of development at the studio and mentoring/directing a team of project Technical Directors. You will collaborate with technology teams across EA to ensure the needs of Ripple Effect and their titles are met. You will also partner with the studio leadership team to help develop and promote the studio culture.

As a Studio Technical Director, you will need...
 

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Deep game engineering background with 10+ years experience working on multiple titles and game engines
  • Experience working across multiple platforms and hardware generations such as PC, console or mobile
  • A history developing in the FPS, Live Service or UGC space.
  • C++ coding background. Ideally in addition to other languages such as C#, Python, Java, Scala etc.
  • Familiarity with all technical aspects of game development including client, server and backend tech stacks
  • 5+ years experience leading large engineering teams, preferably across multiple sites and time zones
  • Ability to mentor and develop multiple Technical Directors
  • Extensive experience managing engineering timelines and headcount plans
  • Experience working with shared technology providers to define roadmaps and promote the needs of our studio and titles
  • To be comfortable partnering with studio, franchise and company level executives to develop technical plans
