Job description
We’re supporting an established UK studio based in the Midlands who are looking for an experienced UI Programmer to join their troop.
As a UI Programmer you’ll be working on a highly anticipated, multiplayer FPS title being built in Unreal Engine. You’ll work closely with Designers, Artists, and fellow Programmers to implement intuitive and visually stunning user interfaces that enhance the player experience.
This game is going to be special, so the studio is looking for someone who really wants to buy in to the game, the studio and the culture, to become an important part of the team.
Your responsibilities…
As a UI Programmer you’ll be working on a highly anticipated, multiplayer FPS title being built in Unreal Engine. You’ll work closely with Designers, Artists, and fellow Programmers to implement intuitive and visually stunning user interfaces that enhance the player experience.

Your responsibilities…
- Collaborate with Designers to create UI systems
- Troubleshoot and debug UI-related issues, working closely with QA to find and resolve bugs
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Unreal Engine's Blueprint visual scripting system and C++
- Develop in-game and frontend UI
- Develop UI components that are responsive, scalable, and visually polished, ensuring consistent design aesthetics throughout the game
- Work with UI Artists to implement and polish UI features
- Identify any technical obstacles whilst finding creative solutions
- Ensure UI features are optimised and performant
- Integrate UI elements with gameplay systems, ensuring seamless interaction between player actions and on-screen feedback
- Solid understanding of all UI/UX fundamentals
- UE4/UE5 experience
- Background in software development and C++ development
- Familiar with UMG, layout, control widgets, and event-driven programming
- Desirable but not essential…
- Experience working on FPS games
- Understanding of the Model-View-View-Model pattern
