Unexpected Developments are looking for somebody who has a background in the games industry or a demonstrable interest and familiarity of games and their development techniques.
As part of a small but focused team you will have a big input into the studio where they place a strong emphasis on personal development, with a dedicated development budget for every team member.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
4+ years of C++ programming experience in the games industry with one or more published titles or equivalent experience outside of games
Experience programming UI systems
Ability to write clear and maintainable code and understand and build upon code written by others
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all disciplines
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as required
A desire to constantly improve and develop new skills
Ability to realistically break down and schedule tasks plus identify and raise risks
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise different tasks to achieve the project goals
Perform well under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment
Unreal or Unity experience
Desirable skills…
Experience with Unreal
Experience developing UI with UMG/Slate
Experience with Perforce
Good understanding of agile development
Project tracking software experience e.g. Hansoft, Jira
Multi-platform development experience
Console development experience
