Job description
Stellar Entertainment are searching for an Associate Technical Director to play a key role in the development and delivery of their AAA titles.
As Associate Technical Director you'll work with cutting-edge hardware in conjunction with the Technical Director and cross-functional, international teams, to contribute to the technical vision of projects.
You will oversee project development and ensure the successful execution of technical strategies, jumping straight in on Stellar's current project and, in future, also take on responsibility for heading up a second project.

Your responsibilities...
- Collaborate with the Technical Director to define and implement the engineering roadmap for game projects, ensuring alignment with the creative vision and project goals
- Mentor, guide, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the development lifecycle, from design to release, optimisation, scalability, and maintainability of game systems
- Identify technical challenges, evaluate risks, and propose solutions to mitigate potential issues, maintaining project timelines and quality standards
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Art, and Production to streamline workflows, resolve dependencies, and achieve project milestones
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, integrating innovative solutions to enhance game development processes
- Jump in where needed to support in missing skill areas
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, resource gaps and other technical blockers working with stakeholders
- Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Proven experience in a Senior Technical role within the games industry
- Shipped two or more titles on console/PC, ideally AAA
- Strong proficiency in C++, C#, or other relevant programming languages
- In-depth knowledge of game engines and development tools
- Experience of different levels of Engineering and what those roles entail
- Experience with optimisation techniques for various gaming platforms
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients
