Job description

UK Studio, Flix Interactive, specialise in working on Unreal Engine titles. Having worked alongside some of the UK finest AAA studios, they’re seeking a Head of Creative Design to lead the Creative Design team as Flix work on the ultimate open world survival titles.

As the Head of Creative Design, you will be responsible for leading the Creative Design team, helping drive standards of quality as high as possible, provide all the tools for the team’s skills to grow, and deliver inspiring concepts for implementation.

This role will make great use of your creative and prototyping skills, strategic planning, and people management expertise as you’ll be working with numerous IP’s, stakeholders, and co-dev partners.

Your responsibilities…
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovation within the creative team, nurturing talent, providing mentorship, and promoting professional growth opportunities
  • Lead and manage the game design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of creative concepts and gameplay features
  • Develop and communicate the overall game design vision, ensuring alignment with project goals, target audience, and production
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including gameplay mechanics, level layouts, character progression, and narrative arcs, to guide the development team throughout the production cycle 
  • Collaborate with the creative and production teams to establish gameplay mechanics, player progression systems, and balance in line with the game’s vision and genre
  • Create pitches and present them to stakeholders of Flix, external companies, game shows or at universities
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • End-to-end development of multiple creative products
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams toward a common vision
  • 5+ years professional industry experience in UE
  • Worked through at least one full development cycle
  • Experience of people management, individuals, teams, and sub-teams
