Job description

We’re working with Dambuster Studios as they recruit for a Lead 2D / UI Artist to join their Art department and lead a talented team through the exciting and challenging demands of a AAA product from conception through to completion.
You’ll be planning and managing the needs of the team while balancing the commercial needs of the business.

Your responsibilities...
  • Create UI & 2D style guides
  • Effectively manage a team of 2D UI Artists and prepare and monitor task schedules
  • Maintain the art vision and style set out by the Art Director
  • Inspire the 2D / UI art team and drive the UI art and technology forward
  • Design and implementation of game menus and interfaces
  • With the Art Director, perform regular appraisals, reviews, and objective setting for the 2D team
  • Assist with recruitment and selection of staff for your team
  • Define and enforce good working practices based on the project's scope and resources
  • Monitor and coordinate dependencies between different departments
  • Liaise with external service providers if required
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash.
  • One or more shipped titles in a Lead position
  • Strong UI focused portfolio
  • Management, project planning and game development experience
  • Excellent communications skills to work with other departments
  • Strong passion for games.
  • Excellent understanding of production procedures and industry software
  • Good interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Able to manage, plan and organise time and comfortable working to deadlines
  • Team leadership qualities and a team first mentality
