Job description

Aardvark Swift are working with a new London based startup studio, Webb Technology to find a Lead Game Designer as they build a retro MMO RPG with fantastic pixel art!

As Lead Game Designer, you'll have full ownership for the design of the game, from systems, economy, combat, levels etc and craft deep, rich, and unforgettable player experiences.

The studio believes games should be fun, excitement, and have outstanding design. With this in mind the development team has a rich background and includes talent from the likes of Blizzard, Jagex and Epic Games and comprises a team of like-minded individuals who are game enthusiasts, world builders, and design and development devotees with an indie spirit.

Their pixel art browser game invites players to shape an immersive world set in an alternate universe where AI emerges in the early '90s, blending retro-futuristic aesthetics with an AI-driven narrative. Players can embark on a dungeon crawler with raid bosses, compete in a 5v5 MOBA, or explore traditional MMO world quests, resource collection, and crafting.

  • Strong experience in creating new features and driving a design team
  • Experience of guiding a multi-disciplinary team
  • Exposure to economy design
  • MMO/RPG design experience would be a huge plus
