We're helping to support a powerhouse in the VR sector, XR Games, in their search for a Lead Programmer.
They've had incredible success and acclaim with the projects they've released and there's plenty they've got under wraps that will continue that trend.
They are looking for a Lead Programmer to assume overall responsibility for an exciting VR project. Reporting to the Head of Programming you will be responsible for growing and managing a team of programmers as well as being a key point of contact for the client.
Your responsibilities...
Overseeing the programming team, co-ordinating their efforts and ensuring the project progresses according to the defined timeline.
Provide technical guidance, make key decisions, and drive the project to completion
Line management responsibility for the programmers on your project and will help develop their skills and careers as well as the project
Play a key role in the recruitment of new programmers for the team
Act as one of the primary points of contact for client interactions where you will be able to address any technical queries or concerns
Assessing project requirements to allocate resources effectively and ensure your team has the right tools, technology, and talent to deliver
Work closely with production and HR to optimise the resources available
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Previous industry experience in a lead role
Shipped 2 or more projects as a Lead Programmer
Experience working on projects with a C++ / Unreal Engine tech stack
Demonstrable team leadership/management capabilities
Strong C++ coding experience
Good experience with Unreal Engine
Experienced with porting projects
Strong decision making and leadership skills and a commercial understanding
