Lead Technical 3D Animator (Hybrid)
Job description
We are supporting Daedalic Entertainment as they look for a Lead Technical 3D Animator to join their team.
The studio are a really passionate team that is well known for adventure game masterpieces including Silence, The Deponia Series, Edna & Harvey, The Dark Eye: Memoria and now the upcoming The Lord of The Rings – Gollum ™ which will be released on PC & Console!
Your responsibilities…
- Collaborate with a highly motivated team on the multi-platform title: "The Lord of the Rings: Gollum" (UE4) as well as its follow-up project (UE5)
- Optimise the animation and rigging pipeline for animations and cutscenes
- Work with state-of-the-art technology to enable the animation team to create high quality and efficient animations
- Work closely with programmers and animators to create the best possible in-game cutscene animations
- Create and edit mocap animations in-house and in external studios
- Identify technical problems and offer appropriate solutions
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
- Several years of professional experience as a Technical Animator in the industry
- First-class understanding of animation technologies such as rigging and skinning
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 and 5 animation tools and can create blend spaces and animation blueprints
- Previous experience with the recording and processing of motion capture animations
- Very good knowledge of Maya, whilst further knowledge of similar 3D software or similar animation tools is a bonus
- Structured, independent, and conscientious way of working
- Strong command of German or English, both written and spoken
- Experience in the field of creature animation is a plus
