Job description

We’re working with CI Games as they look to bring in a Lead Technical Artist to join their busy Underdog studio and support driving CI Games Studios forward as they experience exponential growth.

Founded in 2002, CI Games has been creating globally recognised games for 20 years with their most popular franchise, Sniper Warrior, selling over 14 million copies! They currently have several exciting projects in the pipeline in Unreal Engine 5.

Your responsibilities…
  • Work with level designers, level artists and engineers to bring 3D art into the engine within toolsets, pipelines, and best practices
  • Provide hands-on support to level artists and engineers in regard to asset performance and validation within the game
  • Spearhead and proactively share the knowledge with level artists and engineers in the use of the 3D art pipeline
  • Review outsourcing deliveries and identify opportunities for improvements on the pipelines between internal teams and externals
  • Provide and review shaders to secure visual quality and performance
  • Keep updated to the latest trends to secure the 3D art pipeline with an eye towards usability and efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineers and testers to diagnose and resolve challenging technical issues in the 3D art to secure performance and stability of the game

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • 3 years of experience in a technical art position
  • Strong technical background on the art production process and workflows
  • Experience with Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya/3D Studio Max, and other related software
  • Able to find the balance between visual quality and real-time rendering performance
  • An eye for what looks natural/believable
  • Able to keep content relevant to the current projects’ art style and work within those limitations
  • Comfortable working flexibly on tasks across various projects and time-zones
  • Ability to prioritise workload as well as being flexible and responsive to last minute changes
  • High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent proficiency in English

For this role you will need to be based within +/- 2 hours of the studio's core hours of 10:00-16:00 CET.
