Job description

Dorado Games are wanting a talented Level Designer to join their team and collaborate closely with the Game Designer, Producer, executive team, and developers to design, balance, and implement specific maps and levels for an assigned online game.

Dorado Games is an established video game studio located in Malta with a wide portfolio of online games, with a particular emphasis for this role to be contributing to the decision-making on "Conflict of Nations: World War 3".

In this role, you’ll be creating and maintaining detailed documentation and datasets, as well as entering relevant data and findings into associated tools and databases.

Your responsibilities…

  • Enter all relevant data and findings into associated tools and databases to facilitate effective development, testing, and release of the game
  • Balance the strategic maps of the game, introducing new scenarios, tutorials, in-game goals, and challenges to enhance gameplay experience
  • Implement and improve the game's map-based resource economy, ensuring its functionality and profitability
  • Ensure the maps provide an engaging and enjoyable experience for players, optimising their flow and fun factor
  • Document all design-related ideas and findings in the designated design database for future reference and knowledge sharing

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • 3 or more years of professional level design experience
  • Diploma or degree in Video Game Design, Geography, Military History, Computer Science, or a relevant field from a college or university
  • Previous experience in game production, development projects, or comparable modding projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent ability to articulate and document level and game design ideas clearly and concisely
  • Effective and objective communication skills, enabling collaboration with team members at all levels
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines under stressful conditions
  • Strong passion for strategy games
