nDreams are looking to add a Principal UI Artist to their team as they continue their growth and establish themselves as one of the world’s leading developers and publishers focused on VR games.
By combining innovation with excellence and state of the art technology nDreams have created award winning games such as Phantom: Covert Ops, Fracked and Far Cry: Dive Into Insanity.
nDreams have got several exciting projects planned for the year and beyond as they continue to push the boundaries of VR. As the Principal UI Artist you will lead their UI team in designing and creating high quality, intuitive UI that defines how players interact with their games.
The role will see you and the UI team working across all of the studio’s projects and collaborating with a number of project teams and sub studios as you engage in a broad range of activity including UI concepting and prototyping, asset production, animation and working with Unreal (UMG).
Key responsibilities…
Maintaining the art direction to deliver a cohesive aesthetic for any given project
Collaborating with wider 2D/UI team as well as Code, Design and VFX teams on various projects
Mentoring and coaching the development of junior members of the team to share skills and knowledge and raise the capabilities of the team
Designing and building contemporary, striking UI solutions, setting the standard for VR interfaces
Investigating and developing new UI related techniques, tools, and pipelines
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
A driven, innovative, and collaborative mindset
Highly competent in graphic design, especially layout, composition, colour theory, typography
Experienced in UI development pipelines
Record of delivering major projects to completion, interacting with other departments involved in the project
Can employ a clear design process from reference, conception and iteration to final styling and execution
Demonstrates self-driven continued learning in related disciplines
Can identify and execute workflow improvements
Able to mentor others, including juniors drawing on experience and knowledge to promote wider expertise across the team
Previous involvement with interviewing potential team members
Able to balance quality against technical and time restrictions
Comfortable work independently and being self-critical
Able to give input into the vision and design direction of the UI
Effective communicator both verbally and visually
Awareness of current trends in UI and UX, particularly with regards to VR
Bonus points if you…
Are skilled with Adobe’s Creative Suite
Have a Degree or equivalent qualification and/or 5 years’ experience in an industry UI role
