Senior Artist (UK Remote)
Job description
We’re working with a UK studio, based in the Midlands who are looking for a Senior Artist who loves creating stunning game environments and props.
As a Senior Artist, you’ll help to propel projects to the next artistic level and play an important role within the Art team, helping to set the artistic vision, leading by example, and helping to foster a positive, collaborative atmosphere.
Working remotely in the UK, you will be joining a collaborative studio team who work on co-dev projects and the studio's own IP as well. The studio’s dev team is made up of welcoming, passionate, active gamers that support one another in all aspects of development.
Initially, this is a 12-month fixed term contract with the option to be extended or become a permanent position after 12 months.

Your responsibilities…
Assist and guide the Art team in crafting captivating 3D game assets, including both organic and hard-surface environments and props
Collaborate with Head of Art and the Design team to establish and maintain a consistent, high-quality visual style across the game
Guide the daily progress of the Art team and ensure adherence to project-specific processes for updates, feedback, and production
Help find areas for improvement in art creation pipelines across projects
Partner with the Production team to plan the 3D art requirements for projects, ensuring a clear vision and achievable goals
Lead by example with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, nurturing the skills and artistic growth of your fellow Artists
Participate in interviews, onboarding, mentorship programs, and performance reviews
3D asset creation pipeline, from modelling and texturing to materials
Optimisation, technical, pipeline and efficiency tasks
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Experience with the art production pipeline for Unreal Engine content
Previous experience in a senior 3D art role in games, creating quality, engaging assets
Effective communication skills and a desire to collaborate
Solid understanding of game art content creation, including modelling, texturing, material and lighting processes
Fast and efficient 3D modelling skills along with proficiency in industry-standard software like Maya, Photoshop, Substance, ZBrush
A creative eye and care for art direction in your own work and that of colleagues
Solid grasp of artistic fundamentals including composition, colour theory, form, structure, and lighting
Effective time management and prioritisation, comfortable delegating
Able to establish technical guidelines for asset creation
A love of gaming and enjoy creating stunning visual experiences

Shipped a title from a Senior position
Strong 2D art skills, including concept art and paint-over creation
Skills in adjacent areas like Niagara, Blueprint, Character Art, Animation, or Level Design
