Rebellion North are looking for a Technical Artist to join their team and get involved on a number of projects including a new and yet unannounced game. As part of their ambitious team, you’ll be working on different engines including Unreal 5.
This role is a standalone role in the Rebellion Wakefield studio, whilst you will have the support and guidance of the Rebellion Oxford team; being able to self-motivate and work autonomously is important. You’ll provide hands-on support to artists and programmers regarding asset performance and validation, and, as part of the Technical Art Team, you will play a key role in creating technical art features to support the art asset pipeline.
While the preference for this role is to be on site with the team or hybrid-working with regular days on site, fully remote candidates could also be considered.
Your responsibilities will be to…
Work Autonomously to develop 3D art pipeline tools and extensions with an eye toward usability and efficiency
Provide hands-on support to artists and programmers in regard to asset performance and validation
Work with Artists and Programmers to create 3D art and bring it to life into the engine
Support Artists and Programmers in the use of the 3D art pipeline and user-facing engine tools
Review creative process and identify opportunities for tool improvements
Solve with support challenging technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline
Collaborate with Programmers and Testers to diagnose and resolve in-game problems
You will need proven experience in...
C++ and Python, Max script, and Mel script
Houdini
3d software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, and Blender
3D sculpting packages such as Zbrush or Mudbox
Modelling processes hi-res sculpting, baking textures, and material/shader setup in Realtime render engine
PRB material pipeline/substance
Bonus points if you have experience of working with Unreal Engine.
