Job description

Toadman Interactive are looking to bring in a Technical Director to manage their talented Programming team at their Stockholm studio. It's a growing team with a headcount of around 40, so the role is ideal for someone who wants to put their knowledge and expertise into growing a team and solidifying their reputation for excellence.

Toadman are a studio who have enjoyed organic growth since their inception. They started as a work for hire studio and played a part in games like Killing Floor Calamity, Escape from Dead Island, Dead Island 2, Bloodsports TV, Stylista and Warhammer: End times – Vermintide.

They then now begun work on their own titles, acquired partner studios in Germany and the UK and are solely interested in creating good games that are fun to play!

This is an onsite role with the possibility for hybrid work and is based at Toadman’s Stockholm premises.

Your responsibilities…
  • Manage the Tech department in the Stockholm studio and support with recruitment
  • Oversee the career development of the Teach team through mentoring and support
  • Lead the architectural design of the projects that you are working on
  • Advise Producers, Studio Leadership, HR etc on technical matters
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • Experience in managing a team of people
  • Desire to improve your own skills and knowledge to share with others
  • Strong C++ knowledge in a game development environment
  • A thorough understanding of the Unreal Engine
  • Experience in planning and resource allocation
Nice to have but not essential…
  • Experience with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins
  • Console development experience
  • Developed multiplayer games and/or shooters
  • Experience or involvement with studio recruitment
