Job description
We are supporting Supermassive Games as they look for a UI/Gameplay Programmer to join their team as they embark on an exciting new project!
Supermassive Games are a BAFTA winning game studio who develop innovative storytelling titles. With a number of successful titles under their belt, Supermassive are best known for their critically acclaimed hits such as Until Dawn and their recent release, The Devil In Me.
Your responsibilities…
- Work closely with the design team, UI artists and wider programming team to implement a variety of UI systems across the game using Unreal Engine and its UMG framework/tools
- Create new framework and tools to accommodate any required bespoke/unique features
- Prototype and iterate on UI systems to bring them to quality
- 4 years of experience in the games industry
- Development experience with Unreal Engine and confident using UMG for the implementation of UI systems
- Excellent C++ skills, used in a game-development environment
- In-depth knowledge of several game systems
- Ability to understand and use various SDKs and interfaces effectively
- Happy to work closely with others in a cross-discipline team
- Ability to iterate rapidly from low-fidelity prototypes to finished code
- Understanding of what it takes to craft a compelling and fun player experience
- Good 3D maths knowledge, with creative and innovative qualities
- Determined and self-motivated, with a passion for video games
It’s a bonus if you have…
- Experience in debugging and profiling in all code areas
- Understanding and appreciation of UX flows and techniques
- Exposure to an Agile (e.g. Scrum) development environment
