We’re working with Just Add Water to find a C++ Programmer to join the team at their Leeds based studio that's on the rise.

As a C++ Programmer at Just Add Water, you'll work on a diverse range of projects, including their own IP development and collaborations with external partners. You'll be part of their dev team that is as diverse as the games they make, and the studio is proud of their ethos to champion everyone in their team, in all their creative glory.

Just Add Water is an award-winning studio with a portfolio of critically acclaimed titles, including Sniper Elite VR, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, OddWorld: New'n'Tasty, Dr Who: Edge of Reality, Volume Coda, Micro Machines, Ice Age, and Gravity Crash. They are known for developing high-quality games and content for VR and next-generation hardware.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • 3 or more years of games programming experience in C/C++
  • One or more shipped projects
  • Strong understanding of game engine architecture
  • Collaborative mindset, ready to work with other disciplines
  • Demonstrable understanding of programming fundamentals (OOP, memory management, multi-threading, data structures, time/space algorithmic big O notation analysis)
  • Experience in navigating complex internal native engines with limited to no documentation.
  • Experience in researching and documenting new technical features comprehensively, outlining requirements and risks
  • Demonstrable experience in designing scalable systems and concise APIs
  • Proficient debugging skills using breakpoints, callstack, and variable inspection
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Comfortable working in teams of different sizes
