Game Analyst

Location: London
Working Model: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in the office, but can be flexible)

About the Opportunity
Aardvark Swift Recruitment is working with a fast-growing entertainment and games business operating at the intersection of music, gaming, and community-driven experiences. Our client reaches tens of millions of players and viewers globally across digital platforms and is continuing to expand its portfolio of innovative mobile products.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, entrepreneurial team passionate about creating joyful, expressive player experiences. The company operates at scale, moves quickly, and places data at the heart of product and growth decisions.

The Role
We are seeking a Game Analyst to drive actionable insights across a growing portfolio of mobile games. Reporting into senior data leadership, you’ll take ownership of key performance metrics, support live operations, guide experimentation, and help shape product and growth strategy through rigorous analysis.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded analyst who enjoys seeing data-driven insights influence real-time decision-making. You’ll work closely with Product, Growth, UA, and Community teams, acting as the analytical backbone that connects player behaviour with business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and analyse core mobile game KPIs, including retention, monetisation, engagement, and player sentiment
  • Design, run, and evaluate experiments across features, live ops, content updates, and monetisation initiatives
  • Build dashboards, forecasts, and models to support performance tracking and opportunity sizing
  • Partner with Product and User Acquisition teams to optimise funnels, segment users, and test offers, bundles, and notifications
  • Support prototyping and greenlight decisions through structured testing and validation
  • Improve analytics infrastructure, including event tracking schemas, tooling, and data quality
  • Conduct market and competitor research to inform product and content decisions
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, high-impact insights for stakeholders across the business

What We’re Looking For
Games/Application Analytics Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience analysing games or applications and delivering actionable insights
  • Experience across the full development lifecycle, from prototype to global launch
  • Strong working knowledge of Firebase, attribution fundamentals, and marketing analytics tools such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, or ironSource
Data Storytelling & Visualisation
  • Proficient with tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Google Data Studio
  • Able to present insights clearly and persuasively, with recommendations grounded in data and free from common biases
Curiosity & Technical Confidence
  • Comfortable working directly with raw data (tables, CSVs, JSON)
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and transforming large datasets
  • Experience implementing new data sources (e.g. REST APIs) into BigQuery or similar platforms
Growth-Focused Mindset
  • Strong understanding of growth mechanics, including UA funnels, ASO, and live ops
  • Experience with segmentation, push notification strategies, and content-driven engagement
  • Comfortable applying a creative touch when needed, including basic image or video editing

Nice to Have
  • Experience using Python or R for deeper analysis or automation
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, event-based schemas, and Google Cloud tooling
  • Experience with Firebase, Amplitude, or GA4
  • Knowledge of content-led growth or player-driven curation
