Job description

We are supporting Unbroken Studios as they look for a Lead Concept Artist to visually communicate and maintain a stylized art direction, creating world-class environments, characters, props, and key art marketing materials.

As a Lead Concept Artist at the studio, you will work closely with the Art Director and Creative Leadership team to develop and conceptualize the artistic vision of their AAA games. You’ll bring your expertise as a visionary, designer, and storyteller to lead a team of passionate artists.

Your responsibilities…
  • Drive the development of art style guides and process guides
  • Produce high-quality concept art, with the ability to deliver consistent quality across all areas of characters, environments, and props
  • Communicate and evangelize the visual style of the game, sharing knowledge with the team to be sure that the vision and directions are understandable
  • Create key art illustrations for use in marketing and promotional materials
  • Participates in the overall planning and scope of the concept needs for projects
  • Oversee the quality of the work the concept team delivers and set the bar for excellence
  • Lead and support a team of concept artists, providing guidance, feedback, education, performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring
  • Create benchmarks for quality assets covering all aspects of style guides, creative briefs, concept design, key art, illustration, and experiments adhering to the overall art direction
  • Handle an efficient and scalable concept art pipeline that can provide a foundation for future games shaped by constructive feedback and implemented solutions

  • Strong proficiency in art fundamentals, design principles, anatomy, and color theory
  • High level of creativity and problem-solving skills with an ability to adapt game design considerations into artwork
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of styles that leans heavily toward stylized work

  • Ability to communicate your creative vision, process, decisions, and rationale to team members and cross-functional stakeholders in a way that inspires and motivates them
