Unity Gameplay Developer (mid/senior level)
Location: Bournemouth, UK (Hybrid/In-house preferred, flexibility considered) - however must be based in the UK and have full right to work.

Aardvark Swift are working with an exciting new studio on the South Coast who are building a one-of-a-kind sports title that blends strategy, competition, and high-energy gameplay. Backed by solid investment and a passionate founding team, they’re moving from pre-production into full development – and this is your chance to be part of their earliest hires.

The Role
As a Unity Gameplay Developer, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing core gameplay systems, ensuring mechanics feel smooth, engaging, and fun across platforms. Working in close collaboration with designers, artists, and other developers, you’ll bring features from concept through to polished implementation, shaping how players interact with the game moment-to-moment.
Responsibilities

Develop and implement gameplay systems in Unity using in-house frameworks and tools.

Collaborate with design and art teams to transform concepts and design documents into functional, enjoyable gameplay experiences.

Extend existing frameworks to support new features and expand current mechanics.

Optimise gameplay performance across platforms.

Integrate gameplay logic with UI and backend systems.

Debug, test, and refine gameplay to maintain a seamless player experience.
Requirements

4+ years’ professional game development experience

Strong proficiency with Unity and C#

Background in developing for both PC and mobile platforms

Strong understanding of programming best practices: source control, debugging, testing, optimisation

Experience working with scriptable objects and data serialisation
