Job description

Cheshire based TT Games are looking for a Principal Level Designer to take on a key role on an exciting new LEGO title based on a major IP, and set the bar for high quality levels which support the creative pillars of the game and IP.

Responsible for the best-selling and BAFTA-winning LEGO videogame series, TT Games is in the business of delighting gamers both young and older alike. With more than 25 years of success behind their studio, and as a valued part of Warner Bros since 2007, they have incredibly exciting plans for future titles based on the world's biggest entertainment properties.

Your responsibilities…
  • Set the example for high quality levels which support the creative pillars of the game and IP
  • Help to consolidate the Level Design teams' understanding of the vision and design of the game, providing feedback so work meets the required quality bar
  • Support feedback from other disciplines, Directors and user research
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, understanding their role and building a positive relationship to ensure that they are involved in the design process
  • Demonstrate level design best practice, and improve the level design workflow with your team
  • Work with Leads to develop best practice
  • Work with the Production teams to verify team task estimations 
  • Assist with junior and mid-level mentoring
  • Encourage a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and respect
  • Assist with the recruitment process where necessary
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • Experience in Level Design on AAA action-adventure titles, with one or more titles shipped in a Senior, Lead or Principal Level Design position on console or PC
  • Broad knowledge of all aspects of game and level design with a strong understanding of layout, architectural composition, combat, encounter design, balancing, flow, difficulty, progression, and usability
  • Understanding player motivations and psychology
  • Describe approaches and techniques that create engaging and fun levels in modern games
  • Passion for creating fun and accessible games for gamers of all ages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of UE4 and UE5 is a bonus
