Job description

Slitherine Software are recruiting for a Producer to assume the lead on one of their projects currently under development, helping to ensure the quality and success Slitherine have become known for continues.

Slitherine is an award-winning, dynamic, and rapidly expanding studio, who specialise in strategy and wargames, such is their strength and expertise in this area that they also support the UK Ministry of Defence with simulations for training and analysis.

As a Producer at Slitherine, you’ll be part of a team that’s involved in project oversight, ensuring that the project is planned, budgeted, tracked and any risks to delivering the projects on time are flagged.

You’ll assist the development teams by dealing with any impediments, helping them to focus on and achieve project goals and pull in all the different stakeholders involved in the project making sure the right people are involved in the project at the right time.

There will also be opportunities to support the studio’s wider and varied roster of strategy and wargame projects should you wish.

Your responsibilities…
  • Managing projects from initial concept through to publication
  • Managing the development roadmap of your projects, keeping all studios and stakeholders aware of developments throughout a project’s lifecycle (including post launch and service support)
  • Working with other departments to establish a realistic project scope and schedule on your projects
  • Championing the team when it comes to de-risking projects
  • Helping discipline Leads identify any problems, and prevent them before they occur
  • Help to ensure the project team do not get lost in the detail and remain focussed on the big picture
  • Be the glue within the teams, as you steer the project and bring the disciplines together
  • Ensure communication between the studio and third parties is maintained via both personal and electronic methods
  • Liaise with military, academic or defence industry partners as and when the project requires
  • Presenting development progress to stakeholders and commercial teams
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • 3 or more years’ experience in a games production role
  • Knowledgeable about strategy / wargame titles
  • Strong project management skills and experience, with a solid understanding of modern project management methodologies and practices
  • A friendly, approachable manner with a professional work ethic
  • Proactive and driven and comfortable working without direct supervision to project timescales
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of hardcore strategy games and trends
  • A knowledge of military history, especially post WW2 and up to modern equipment, would be an advantage
