Job description

Aardvark Swift are supporting Team 17 as they look for a Senior Community Manager to join their successful team.

As the Senior Community Manager, you will develop the strategy and management for a selection of the studio’s popular games. You’ll bring your experience of the forums and channels the studio uses to bear alongside a wealth of knowledge about community management and the wider industry in general; as you’ll also be instrumental to the development of other Community Managers.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Collaborating with the Community and Social Lead to support the development of overarching community strategy
  • Creating and maintaining safe spaces where people can converge and engage in their passion for games
  • Create online Team 17 advocates by engaging daily with communities and fostering excitement for the studio’s titles
  • Shaping key community strategies across your own slate of games and beyond
  • Collecting and presenting important community feedback to our internal production and marketing teams as well as external developer partners
  • Help identify key areas of focus to improve title campaigns as a whole
  • Act as the champion and ambassador of our exciting and eclectic range of games
  • Mentor and support other Community Managers through collaboration and leading by example
  • Act as a key stakeholder, approving, editing, and constructively feeding back to other Community Managers on their posts, copy and tone
  • Help refine and maintain a consistent and robust engagement schedule across Team 17 and title related channels
  • Growing enthusiastic communities across channels such as Discord, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook as well as Steam Forums
  • Some livestreaming opportunities in liaison with our Social Content Creator for your titles
  • Co-ordinate with external resource such as Discord Mods and social agencies to make sure everyone is aligned in delivering top tier engagement and support to audiences
  • Being a voice for the product and internal teams whilst also being a voice back to the company from the fans of the title

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • A strong understanding and experience of video games and their audiences
  • Previous experience as a Community Manager, developing inventive and meaningful campaign strategies
  • Experience of dealing with game communities and preferably some experience of dealing with conflict resolution within a community
  • Experience of dealing with live service or games as a service desirable but not essential
  • Ability to track, measure and feedback on engagement and sentiment analytics, quickly adapt plans or approaches to ensure campaigns deliver the best results possible, and identify key learnings for the future
  • Basic working knowledge of photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Able to think on your feet and work under your own initiative with a can-do, solution focused attitude
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to build effective, collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders

Team17 have recently overseen multiple launches across their games label and own IP, and they aren't stopping there. With huge growth plans afoot, the studio is keen to drive their continued success by bringing onboard dynamic, inventive and impassioned individuals who are keen to play their part in the future of Team 17.
