We are supporting Unknown Worlds as they look for a Senior 3D Environment Artist to work on their recently released Moonbreaker game and their next game in the Subnautica Universe.
Unknown Worlds is an independent game company from San Francisco, California. The studio has worked previously on titles such as Subnautica, Titan Quest, Empire Earth, Lair, GRAW 2, Mass Effect, Bioshock Infinite, Firefall & Star Citizen.
Your responsibilities…
Collaborate closely with the concept team and other environment artists to create stunning and expressive 3D environments to bring game worlds to life
Work with the art team to refine and improve art pipelines and workflows
Work with graphics programmers to develop new systems and techniques and help manage texture and shader efficiency
Assist with integration of art assets into the game
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
3+ years experience as a 3D Artist in the games industry, with one or more shipped title
High level of proficiency with Max, Maya or Blender, Z-Brush, and Substance Designer & Painter
Skilled at texturing and developing materials in Substance Designer
Skilled at sculpting natural environments and vegetation
Strong written and verbal communication
Self-starting, organized, and highly motivated
Desire to contribute creatively to the development of games outside of art
It’s a bonus if you have…
Experience with Unreal or Unity engine
Previous experience with multiplatform development including console
Past experience with other art subdisciplines a plus (concepting, animation, rigging, VFX)
